Bucher is a Swiss company based in the outskirt of Zurich specialized in designing and manufacturing aircraft interior solutions. Bucher covers the most important aircraft segment as it is an official supplier of both Airbus and Boeing, and for the most important airlines in the world such as Lufthansa, Swiss, Thai, to name a few.
During this period, I led a team of six people and worked at the Bucher testing facility to perform emergency landing condition tests on Bucher galleys. In this facility, different type of impacts are tested to ensure each element complies with applicable regulations. The test setup reflects the analysis coming from the impact simulations from the aircraft manufacturer. Each load is simulated with a oleo dynamic actuator. Where it is not possible to place an actuator, lead bricks are used.
